Job summary

Carrington Mortgage Services is seeking a Bankruptcy Team Lead to monitor residential mortgage loans in the bankruptcy process from a home-based role. You will oversee the team’s performance, workflow, and timelines while ensuring compliance with investor timelines and company policies and applicable laws.

The target pay range is $25.00-$29.00 per hour. Responsibilities include training staff, updating policy and procedures, reviewing control reports, handling escalated inquiries from borrowers

Qualifications

• Five plus years’ experience in a bankruptcy role in the banking, finance or mortgage industry.
• One year or more in senior or lead bankruptcy role or project management.
• Intermediate math skills needed to calculate Motions for Relief and Proof of Claim figures.

Responsibilities

• Provides training, creates and updates Policy & Procedures, and reviews control reports to ensure overall quality and performance of the Bankruptcy processes.
• Handles escalated calls from borrowers or attorneys contacting the Bankruptcy Department.
• Works with management on multiple projects and coordinates with IT related to BK processes.
• Leads litigated and escalated bankruptcy files and provides management with recommendations.
• Conducts formal training sessions with staff on bankruptcy processes.
• Identifies process gaps and implements approved continuous improvements.
• Acts as Trainer within the department for multiple bankruptcy processes.
• May have signing authority to sign bankruptcy documents on behalf of the company.
• Receives and processes bankruptcy documents throughout all bankruptcy stages.
• Audits and completes bankruptcy filings setup, motions, proofs of claim, transfers, reaffirmations, notices, and closing processes for accuracy.
• Verifies borrower payment history and resolves posting discrepancies.
• Gathers and uploads required documents for filing actions in bankruptcy.
• Responds to inquiries from borrowers, attorneys, and internal departments about bankruptcy matters.
• Provides management with recommended solutions to bankruptcy agreements or disputes.
• Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
