Position: Remote Bankruptcy Litigation Paralegal or Legal Assistant

Responsibilities:

1. Maintain calendar and coordinate hearings, depositions, conference calls, and meetings.
2. Familiarize with all client matters; communicate directly with clients, outside attorneys, and courts regarding scheduling.
3. Work within Microsoft 360, MS Teams, MS Word, Excel, and handle basic bookkeeping and billing.
4. Study bankruptcy practice and procedure; engage in strategic discussions with the managing partner (43 years of experience).
5. Experience with the Federal filing system for District Court or Bankruptcy Court is required, including familiarity with electronic mail systems.
6. Potential for full-time employment.

Company Description

This is primarily a solo practice after leaving "Big Law." It is a busy and demanding position that requires prior experience in bankruptcy law and practice. Knowledge of local rules and uploading via CM/ECF is necessary, which can be gained through exchanges with the Senior Partner and understanding how to find the correct set of rules for various adversary proceedings (from complaint to trial in bankruptcy court).
