Overview

The Senior Paralegal reports directly to an Associate General Counsel or Assistant General Counsel, with expertise in specific areas of law such as litigation, employment law, personal injury, real estate, or commercial transactions. The role involves supporting multiple attorneys, training new paralegals, creating processes for efficiency, and working independently on legal and business documents.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist in managing legal issues efficiently and timely.
• Research and gather information to assist legal analysis and documentation.
• Communicate with internal business units to provide legal counsel or resolve issues.
• Investigate factual claims.
• Review, analyze, and create legal documents.
• Manage legal document management systems.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and assist with legal projects.
• Conduct legal research and support cross-functional legal team activities.
• Train new staff and update on technology and processes.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Paralegal studies.
• Minimum 8 years of related experience in a legal field.
• Preferred certifications include Florida Bar or ABA-approved paralegal certification.
• Skills: Knowledge in specialized areas of law, computer proficiency, experience with legal research and case management systems, excellent communication, integrity, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
