Job Description

Join the legal frontline and champion the defense for both the insured and the Company! As an Early Career Trial Attorney, you'll handle bodily injury, property damage lawsuits, and more, with opportunities for trials, arbitrations, and mediations. You'll provide vital counsel to business clients and coordinate between legal teams, staying ahead of new laws and regulations to keep our strategies sharp. Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation from case inception to verdict, including case assessment, discovery, depositions, motions, negotiations, courtroom advocacy, and post-trial motions to ensure favorable outcomes.
  2. Gather and organize documents, evidence, and legal research for cases, including preparation for hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
  3. Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents; prepare summaries and reports.
  4. Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and legal documents.
  5. Interview clients and witnesses, draft summaries of statements, and maintain communication records.
  6. Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings to observe and assist as needed; may represent the company or clients in routine matters.
  7. Monitor changes in laws and regulations, and assist in updating the legal team on potential impacts.
  8. Participate in training sessions and mentorship programs to develop legal skills and gain exposure to complex legal work.
Education
  • Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the Florida State Bar.
Minimum Requirements
  • Successful completion of courses in legal research, writing, and analysis, demonstrating ability to conduct thorough legal research and draft clear legal documents.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Organizational skills for managing case files and understanding the discovery process.
  • Effective communication skills with clients and record-keeping abilities.
  • Knowledge of legal ethics and professional conduct standards.
  • Fundamental negotiation techniques and strategies.
  • Must be within commuting distance to courthouses in the greater Fort Lauderdale-Miami area.

Annual salary ranges from $66,800 to $120,650, based on experience and qualifications.
