Freedom Holding Corp. is seeking a Controller to build the bank's accounting function from the ground up as part of its founding leadership team. Remote (U.S.) and full-time, reporting to the CFO, this role leads GL, payroll, regulatory reporting, and close processes.

You will ensure US GAAP compliance, CECL and Leases, and manage the external auditors while aligning with the Nasdaq-listed parent’s reporting needs. A strategic builder for a growing financial institution.

Qualifikationen

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in a commercial bank or financial institution.
• Direct bank accounting and regulatory reporting experience, ideally at a bank under $1B in assets.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, CECL, and FFIEC Call Report preparation.
• Experience with Nasdaq-listed or similar public parent reporting requirements.
• Experience designing internal controls over financial reporting in a banking environment.
• Experience managing external auditors and supporting regulatory examinations.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
• Public accounting background at a Big 4 or large firm.

Aufgaben

• Oversee the full accounting function: GL, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, month-/year-end closes.
• Prepare financial statements under US GAAP and FFIEC Call Reports and regulatory filings.
• Prepare reporting packages for Nasdaq-listed parent and design internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with ASC 326 (CECL) and ASC 842 (Leases).
• Manage external audit and tax compliance with outside advisors.
• Select and implement GL, regulatory reporting platform, and consolidations tools.
• Support regulatory examinations on accounting and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
• Build and mentor the accounting team as the bank grows.
