Job summary

Maximus seeks a Backend Software Developer to support USAF mission software. The role emphasizes back-end design, API development, database management, and data-model optimization, with cloud, microservices, and DevSecOps expertise. This remote position is contingent on award and security clearance.

Travel up to 10–20% may be required. Active TS/SCI with CI Poly is required. A Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of software development experience are expected.

Qualifications

• 7 years of overall experience in the functional area
• Bachelor's degree required (Master's may substitute for 2 years)
• 7 years of software development experience in object-oriented and scripted languages with DevSecOps, microservices, and containers tool suites
• Demonstrated experience in preparing, conducting, and documenting various systems tests
• 3 years of experience with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira) and testing web-based applications
• 3 years of experience participating in software development programs or projects
• Practical experience developing in a cloud environment
• Experience with integrating data from unclassified to classified application deployments
• 5 years of experience with Jenkins and GitLab
• 5 years of experience with at least five (5) of: NPM, Cypress.io, esbuild, Bun, Apache Tomcat, Maven, SonarQube
• 3 years of recent back-end web design and development experience
• Demonstrated experience with relational databases, RESTful API development/communication, and system integrations
• 3 years of experience with AWS Infrastructure, Kubernetes, and RedHat Linux
• DCWF Code: 632 Intermediate
• Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a CI Poly required
• Role may require travel to a site 10-20% of the time
