Job summary

Speechify is seeking a senior backend engineer in a fully remote-capable US-based role. You will design, build, and maintain scalable APIs (public and internal), ensuring performance and reliability across payments, subscriptions, and analytics while aligning with product strategy and user experience.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, enterprise-ready backend solutions in a fast-paced, async-first environment that values impact and ownership.

Qualifications

• Backend development experience using TypeScript/Node.js.
• Hands-on with cloud providers (GCP, AWS/Azure).
• Familiar with containerized deployments and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API, internal APIs like Payment, Subscription, Auth and Consumption Tracking, ensuring they meet business and scalability requirements.
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, enhancing and optimizing for performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration needs for enterprise clients.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with overall product strategy and user experience.
