Job summary

Pragmatike is hiring a Backend Software Engineer to design, build, and scale integration-heavy services using TypeScript and NestJS. This remote, full-time role offers ownership of backend work and opportunities to impact product and platform strategy across high-volume systems.

You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to deliver reliable, scalable services and to improve observability, performance, and developer experience in a fast-growing tech environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Proven experience building production systems with TypeScript and NestJS.
• Experience designing scalable APIs and backend services.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and debugging in production.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using TypeScript and NestJS.
• Architect and implement scalable APIs, integrations, and event-driven systems.
• Build and optimize high-throughput workflows that process large volumes of data and transactions.
• Design data models and service architectures for complex distributed systems.
• Develop asynchronous processing systems using queues and workers.
• Collaborate with Product and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Improve platform reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
• Implement observability practices including logging, monitoring, metrics, tracing, and alerting.
• Contribute to API design, developer experience, and internal tooling.
• Participate in architectural discussions and influence platform strategy.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity.
• Take ownership of projects from design through deployment.
