Job summary

Synaipse Inc. is seeking a Backend Web Application Engineer to maintain and extend the Laravel-based backend powering SynAIpse: EHR integrations, the deterministic coding rule engine, and data pipelines for ML systems.

You will collaborate with the founders across EHRs like eClinicalWorks, Epic, and athenahealth, shaping architecture as we add new specialties. Remote-first with optional Cincinnati hybrid hub.

Qualifications

• 4+ years with Laravel or an equivalent MVC framework.
• Deployed systems that required 24/7 stability and availability.
• Strong written and verbal communication — able to translate technical detail for non-technical audiences.
• Implemented logging and auditing controls for PHI under HIPAA.

Responsibilities

• Extend our Laravel application to support EHR integrations, including HL7v2, FHIR, and Cloud Fax.
• Iterate on our deterministic coding rule engine, including NCCI edits and payer-specific requirements.
• Build a self-service onboarding flow for practices to provision their own integrations.
• Create data labeling interfaces and pipelines for training data.
• Implement services that meet HIPAA, SOC 2, and HITRUST standards.
