Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking Software Engineers to design, develop, and debug Java-based microservices, with cloud ownership in AWS GovCloud and DevSecOps across CI/CD and security gates.

The positions require 5+ years of Java/Spring experience, Linux proficiency, and familiarity with container platforms (ECS, EKS, OpenShift). U.S. citizenship with Public Trust is required; W2 consultants receive medical, dental, vision, 401k, and life insurance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Java development with Spring/Spring Boot and microservices.
• Cloud-based Java development in AWS GovCloud.
• Linux proficiency for development and operations.
• Cloud system ownership with containers (ECS, EKS, OpenShift).
• DevSecOps experience with CI/CD and security gates.
• AI-assisted software development experience, familiarity with Claude/Sonnet/Opus/Haiku is relevant.
• Observability tooling like CloudWatch/Prometheus/EFK.
• FISMA FedRAMP environments, STIG, NIST 800-53, SSP/ATO support.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug Java services in a microservices architecture.
• Own containerized services in AWS GovCloud, including deployment and incident response.
• Build and operate DevSecOps pipelines with CI/CD and security gates.
• Use AI tools for automated test-script generation and integration into pipelines.
• Migrate workloads across ECS, EKS, and OpenShift with planning and rollback strategies.
• Support on-prem to AWS container migrations with cutover planning.
• Contribute to secure SDLC practices and policy as code.
• Collaborate in SAFe Agile teams and communicate decisions clearly.
