Job summary

Aretum is seeking a skilled Backend Developer to provide expert technical support, maintenance, and enhancement of a client application within an Agile, sprint-based environment. The role emphasizes Python, AWS, RESTful APIs, databases, and seamless integration with TypeScript frontend components.

The candidate will work in a federal contracting atmosphere, handling CUI and adhering to safeguarding and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• 5 years backend development experience required.
• Bachelor’s Degree required; 3 years of additional experience acceptable in lieu of a degree.
• Experience prototyping and deploying backend web applications.
• Experience with Python, Ruby, or similar languages and frameworks (Django, Rails).
• Experience developing and consuming web-based RESTful APIs.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
• Proficiency with scalable search technology.
• Ability to handle large data sets and storage.
• Experience using version control systems.
• Experience working in Agile teams and writing developer-friendly docs.
• Excellent ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities
