Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Sr. Cloud Engineer (Azure) to design, deploy, secure, and optimize enterprise cloud infrastructure for federal customers in Azure. You will build scalable solutions, automate deployments with IaC, and support hybrid architectures while ensuring FedRAMP/NIST/DoD compliance.

Due to federal requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen with an active Secret clearance. This is a full-time, remote opportunity offering competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Security Clearance.
• 5+ years in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Systems Administration, or related fields.
• 3+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure engineering experience.
• 3+ years with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• 3+ years building and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• 4+ years of PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub, and Ansible.
• Experience supporting hybrid-cloud and on-premises integrations.
• Strong understanding of Azure networking services including VNets, Azure DNS, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Load Balancers, and Application Gateway.
• Proficiency with Python, PowerShell, Bash, YAML, and JSON.
• Strong troubleshooting, automation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure and services.
• Manage Azure Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Azure SQL Database, Blob Storage, Managed Disks, and Azure Active Directory.
• Support cloud modernization initiatives and enterprise infrastructure optimization.
• Automate cloud provisioning and configuration using Terraform, ARM Templates, and Ansible.
• Develop automation solutions using PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
• Create reusable infrastructure templates and deployment frameworks.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitLab, and Jenkins.
• Support automated deployments, testing, and release management processes.
• Implement Azure security best practices including RBAC, Defender for Cloud, DDoS Protection, and encryption.
• Ensure compliance with FedRAMP, NIST, and DoD security requirements.
• Support vulnerability remediation and security monitoring efforts.
• Monitor environments with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and Activity Logs.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and optimize performance.
• Configure and manage Azure networking including VNets, DNS, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Load Balancer, and Application Gateway.
• Support hybrid-cloud integrations and migrations using Azure Migrate, Azure Arc, and Site Recovery.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies with Azure Backup and lifecycle policies.
• Partner with DevOps, Security, Engineering, and Government stakeholders and provide technical guidance.
