Eliassen Group is seeking a Sr. Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, secure, and optimize Microsoft Azure infrastructure for government clients in a remote, full-time role.

The candidate will implement scalable solutions, automate deployment, and support hybrid architectures with a focus on FedRAMP and DoD compliance. Requirements include an active Secret clearance, 5+ years in cloud engineering, 3+ years Azure experience, and proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, and CI/CD

Qualifications

• Active Secret Security Clearance.
• 5+ years in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Systems Administration, or related fields.
• 3+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure engineering experience.
• 3+ years with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• 3+ years building and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• 4+ years of PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub, and Ansible.
• Experience supporting hybrid-cloud and on-premises integrations.
• Strong understanding of Azure networking services including VNets, Azure DNS, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Load Balancers, and Application Gateway.
• Experience implementing cloud security controls and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency with Python, PowerShell, Bash, YAML, and JSON.
• Strong troubleshooting, automation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure and services.
• Manage Azure Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Azure SQL Database, Blob Storage, Managed Disks, and Azure Active Directory.
• Support cloud modernization initiatives and enterprise infrastructure optimization.
• Automate cloud provisioning and configuration using Terraform, ARM Templates, and Ansible.
• Develop automation solutions using PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
• Create reusable infrastructure templates and deployment frameworks.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitLab, and Jenkins.
• Support automated deployments, testing, and release management processes.
• Implement Azure security best practices including RBAC, Defender for Cloud, DDoS Protection, and encryption.
• Ensure compliance with FedRAMP, NIST, and DoD security requirements.
• Support vulnerability remediation and security monitoring efforts.
• Monitor environments with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and Activity Logs.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and optimize performance.
• Configure and manage Azure networking (VNets, DNS, VPN, ExpressRoute, Load Balancer, App Gateway).
• Support hybrid-cloud integrations and migrations using Azure Migrate, Arc, and Site Recovery.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies using Azure Backup and lifecycle policies.
• Partner with DevOps, Security, Engineering, and Government stakeholders for Azure architecture and operations.
