Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking aSr. Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and secure Azure infrastructure for federal customers in a remote, full-time role.

The candidate must hold an active Secret clearance and have hands-on Azure, IaC, and DevOps experience to build secure, scalable cloud environments. The position emphasizes compliance with FedRAMP, NIST, and DoD frameworks, plus automation using Terraform, Ansible, and scripting in PowerShell/Python.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Security Clearance required.
• 5+ years in Cloud Engineering/DevOps.
• 3+ years with Azure engineering.
• 3+ years Infrastructure as Code.
• 3+ years building CI/CD pipelines.
• 4+ years PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub, and Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure and services.
• Manage Azure Virtual Machines, VNets, Azure SQL DB, Blob Storage, Managed Disks, and Azure AD.
• Support cloud modernization and enterprise infrastructure optimization.
• Automate cloud provisioning with Terraform, ARM Templates, and Ansible.
• Develop automation using PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
• Create reusable infrastructure templates and deployment frameworks.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, GitLab, and Jenkins.
• Support automated deployments, testing, and release management.
• Implement Azure security controls including RBAC, Defender, DDoS protection, and encryption.
• Ensure FedRAMP, NIST, and DoD security compliance.
• Support vulnerability remediation and security monitoring.
• Monitor environments with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and Activity Logs.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and optimize performance.
• Configure/ manage Azure networking: VNets, DNS, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Load Balancer, App Gateway.
• Support hybrid-cloud integrations and migrations with Azure Migrate/Arc/Site Recovery.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery with Azure Backup and lifecycle policies.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Security, Engineering, and Government stakeholders on Azure architecture/operations.
