Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a DevSecOps Integration Engineer to lead cloud migrations and build CI/CD automation within VA environments. This role emphasizes security, compliance, and scalable AWS architectures.

The candidate will design cloud solutions, govern permissions, and collaborate with teams to ensure VAEC readiness and VIP-aligned development processes. Remote, W-2, US-based opportunity.

Qualifications

• Proven AWS cloud design, deployment and management experience.
• Experience with large-scale, high-availability cloud architectures.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Route 53.
• Experience with AWS security practices (IAM, Shield, WAF) and HIPAA/GDPR/PCI DSS familiarity.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, PowerShell or NodeJS for automation.
• Experience with IaC tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CodePipeline/CodeBuild).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead migration to the cloud and design modern cloud architectures.
• Create data flow diagrams and high-level cloud diagrams.
• Develop and operate CI/CD automation and tooling.
• Manage permissions in cloud environments for diverse applications.
• Implement and monitor cloud architecture for performance and compliance.
• Provide VA Enterprise Cloud (VAEC) setup/configuration and provisioning.
• Support AWS GovCloud environments per VIP requirements.
• Mentor engineers and lead cross-functional projects.
• Prepare cloud security provider documentation and readiness assessments.
• Address cloud-readiness gaps in VAEC deployments.
