Job summary

Cognizant is hiring an AWS Cloud Ops Engineer to monitor, operate, and support AWS infrastructure across production and non-production environments. The role emphasizes daily health checks, CloudWatch/Dynatrace monitoring, backups, and incident investigation.

The candidate will work with EC2, RDS, VPC, DNS, and TriZetto Facets in a remote-friendly setting and participate in on-call rotations and deployment runbooks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years IT infrastructure, cloud operations, or related roles.
• 3+ years hands-on AWS operations experience preferred.
• Experience with production AWS workloads and incident response processes.
• Strong communication, documentation, and weekend/on-call readiness.
• Preferred AWS SysOps/Solutions Architect certificates and ITIL Foundation.
• Hands-on experience with EC2, EBS, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, and cross-account ops.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily AWS health checks including disk space, SSM status, and service availability.
• Configure and enhance monitoring with CloudWatch and Dynatrace, dashboards and alarms.
• Investigate alerts for outages, performance issues, and anomalies.
• Configure CloudWatch to notify on-call for critical incidents.
• Manage EBS snapshots, backups, and operational reporting for EC2/RDS.
• Manage VPC Flow Logs, EC2 logs, S3 access policies, and account access.
• Troubleshoot outages, network issues, DNS zones, firewall changes, and access problems.
• Support deployments via runbooks, instructions, and downtime communications.
• Monitor SVN repos, document infrastructure, and support TriZetto Facets installation.
