Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an AWS Cloud Ops Engineer to monitor, operate, and support AWS infrastructure in a remote/US-based role. You will perform health checks, configure CloudWatch/Dynatrace dashboards, investigate incidents, and manage backups and logs across EC2, RDS, S3, and VPC environments.

The role emphasizes on-call readiness, runbook execution, and cross-account access management within a healthcare-focused environment such as TriZetto Facets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT infrastructure, cloud operations, production support, or systems engineering experience; 3+ years hands-on AWS operations preferred.
• Experience supporting production AWS workloads, monitoring tools, incident response processes, backup validation, and runbooks in enterprise environments.
• Strong communication, documentation, ownership, troubleshooting, and weekend/on-call readiness.
• Preferred certifications in AWS and ITIL; familiarity with healthcare/payer platforms such as TriZetto Facets.
• Hands-on experience across EC2, EBS, RDS, S3, VPC, Route53 Private Zones, CloudWatch, IAM, and cross-account operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily AWS cloud infrastructure health checks, including disk space validation and availability checks.
• Configure and enhance monitoring with CloudWatch and Dynatrace, dashboards, alarms, and workflows.
• Investigate alerts for outages, performance issues, and anomalies across tools.
• Notify on-call teams for critical incidents via alerting rules.
• Manage production EBS snapshots, backups, and reporting for EC2/RDS.
• Support deployments by executing approved runbooks and validation steps.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation and support Facets installation activities.
