Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an AWS Cloud Ops Engineer to monitor, operate, and support AWS infrastructure across production and non-production environments. The role emphasizes health checks, monitoring, incident investigation, backups, and runbook-driven deployments.

The candidate should have 5+ years in IT infra/cloud ops with hands-on AWS experience and relevant certifications. This is a remote-capable role with duties spanning cross-account access, logging, and TriZetto Facets support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years IT infrastructure/cloud operations/production support or systems engineering experience.
• 3+ years hands-on AWS operations experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication, ownership mindset and ability to work weekend/on-call.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily AWS cloud infrastructure health checks and readiness assessments.
• Configure and enhance monitoring with CloudWatch and Dynatrace, including dashboards and alarms.
• Investigate outages, performance issues, and infrastructure anomalies from monitoring alerts.
• Configure CloudWatch alerts to notify on-call for critical incidents.
• Manage EBS snapshots, disk sizing requests, backups for EC2/RDS, and related reporting.
• Manage VPC Flow Logs, EC2 logs, S3 access policies, and cross-account access within the LZ2 landing zone.
• Troubleshoot outages, network issues, DNS zones, firewall changes, and access problems.
• Support deployments by running approved runbooks and coordinating weekend service communications.
• Maintain infra docs and support TriZetto Facets installation activities.
