Job summary

Addison Group seeks an experienced AWS Cloud Administrator to oversee the administration, reliability, security, and ongoing optimization of a cloud-based infrastructure. This remote role supports deployments, troubleshooting, and cost-effective cloud operations across a production environment.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on AWS experience, strong networking knowledge, and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Approximately 5+ years hands-on experience supporting AWS environments.
• Strong working knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure and administration.
• Experience with core AWS services and cloud resource management.
• Understanding of cloud networking, including VPCs, subnets, routing, security controls.
• Experience with scripting/automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure, connectivity, performance, and availability issues.
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles and access management.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• AWS Infrastructure: Maintain and support AWS infrastructure for reliability, scalability, and availability.
• Cloud Operations: Monitor environments and proactively address performance or availability concerns.
• Security & Access: Manage cloud security controls, permissions, and encryption.
• Business Continuity: Support backup, recovery, and resiliency strategies.
• Cloud Optimization: Review utilization and AWS spend to improve efficiency.
• Automation: Develop scripts and IaC to improve consistency and efficiency.
• Application Support: Collaborate with dev/infra/ops for deployments and troubleshooting.
• Infrastructure Documentation: Maintain architecture and procedures docs.
• Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement: Investigate issues and implement improvements.
• Technology Awareness: Stay current with AWS capabilities and security practices.
