Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company seeks an AVP, P&C Actuarial Modeling to lead actuarial and technical efforts for Auto pricing and analytics. You will collaborate across Strategic Pricing, Enterprise Analytics, and Data & Technology to accelerate modeling capabilities and strategic initiatives.

You will oversee actuarial models, pricing tools, and a team of professionals, while ensuring regulatory awareness and cross‑functional alignment.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate studies in actuarial science, business, finance, mathematics, economics, or related field with strong quantitative orientation.
• FCAS designation preferred.
• Typically ten or more years of related experience (pricing, actuarial, product).
• Five years of prior management experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication, including executive level reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide actuarial and technical leadership across data marts, data architecture, rating engines and class plans.
• Oversee development and maintenance of actuarial models and pricing tools.
• Develop a multi-year strategic plan and roadmap in partnership with Finance/Pricing and Analytics teams.
• Lead associate management including performance, salary planning, and development.
