Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company seeks an AVP, Actuary to lead pricing for Group Benefits and Pet. You will shape pricing strategies across Group Health, Nationwide Pet, and NSI, guiding a high-performing team and aligning analytics with business goals.

You will collaborate with business, finance, underwriting, analytics, and technology leaders to deliver pricing solutions that support profitable growth and superior customer value.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate studies in actuarial science, analytics, business, finance, mathematics, economics or related field; graduate degree preferred.
• FSA and MAAA designations preferred.
• 10+ years of pricing, actuarial, product or analytics experience with prior management.

Responsibilities

• Lead pricing for Group Health, Nationwide Pet, and NSI; establish pricing strategies and rate plan direction.
• Oversee development of pricing tools, rate indications, pricing models, segmentation analyses, and profitability studies.
• Monitor portfolio performance and lifecycle results; adjust pricing or product actions as needed.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders to translate actuarial insights into actionable recommendations.
• Influence governance and lead a high-performing pricing team.
