Job summary

Nationwide is seeking an AVP of Pricing for Property & Casualty to lead pricing strategy development across designated product lines. You will oversee the pricing team, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with senior leadership to drive profitability and competitiveness.

You will partner with product, finance, actuarial, and analytics teams to align pricing with market conditions. The role emphasizes leadership, data-driven insights, and multi-year strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate studies in actuarial science, business, finance, mathematics, economics, or related field with strong quantitative orientation.
• Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) designation preferred.
• Typically, ten years related experience (pricing, actuarial, product). Five years prior management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive pricing strategies for specific P&C insurance product lines.
• Oversee the pricing team to achieve product line objectives (DWP, new writings, retention, loss ratio).
• Oversee actuarial models and pricing tools; ensure data analysis to support pricing decisions.
• Ensure pricing practices comply with state and federal regulatory requirements; manage rate reviews and filings.
• Provide regular performance reports and pricing recommendations to senior management.
• Lead associate management including performance, salary planning and development, training and day-to-day management.
• Stay informed about changes in insurance regulations and adjust pricing strategies accordingly.
