Job summary

The Aviation Safety Management Specialist will develop, implement and maintain the Safety Management System (SMS) in line with ICAO and national aviation rules. You will identify risks, monitor safety performance and promote a proactive safety culture while working remotely from South Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in aviation safety-related field.
• Minimum 5 years of aviation safety management experience, preferably with SMS implementation.
• Knowledge of ICAO Annex 19, EASA or equivalent regulations.
• Strong risk management, hazard analysis and incident investigation skills.
• Excellent analytical and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the SMS in accordance with ICAO and national authorities.
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification and safety performance monitoring.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs for personnel across departments.
• Investigate safety occurrences, analyze trends and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain safety documentation and liaise with regulators and auditors.
