Job summary

Axalta is seeking a Paint Technician, Automotive for a remote role that requires local presence in the Toronto area for on-site visits. The role focuses on ensuring SOPs, auditing applications, and troubleshooting issues at customer sites in the commercial vehicle segment.

Qualified candidates will have 5+ years in paint application/manufacturing, knowledge of automotive coatings, and strong communication skills. Travel up to 60% is required, and relocation/sponsorship are not offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years paint application and/or manufacturing experience is mandatory.
• Automotive coatings industry alignment a plus.
• Experience with automotive painting equipment is highly preferred.
• Strong technical understanding of lab practices and chemical handling/PSM.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with multiple projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Support relationships with management, procurement, and paint technicians at customer sites.
• Maintain key communication with sales and management.
• Provide technical direction and assistance on product lines.
• Possess working knowledge of paint technologies.
• Respond to questions regarding product lines and operations.
• Troubleshoot painting issues and recommend solutions.
• Assist customers with data collection, samples, and analysis.
• Assist with daily paint consumption, invoices, inventory, and ordering.
