Placements24 is seeking a Remote Diagnostic Specialist for a fully remote role based in South Africa. You will perform remote diagnostic analysis of vehicle systems, troubleshoot complex issues remotely, and advise dealership technicians with detailed repair guidance.

You will document procedures, collaborate with engineering, and stay updated on evolving vehicle technologies. A strong automotive diagnostic background and reliable home office setup are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an automotive technician or diagnostic specialist.
• Strong proficiency in using vehicle diagnostic software and remote access tools.
• In-depth knowledge of modern vehicle electronic systems, CAN bus, and engine management.

Responsibilities

• Perform remote diagnostic analysis of vehicle systems using proprietary software and telematics data.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues from a distance.
• Communicate findings and provide detailed repair guidance to dealership technicians and service advisors.
• Document diagnostic procedures, findings, and resolutions meticulously in the knowledge base.
• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to identify recurring issues and propose solutions.
• Stay updated on new vehicle technologies and diagnostic techniques.
