Job summary

Zekelman Industries is seeking an Automation Specialist to support and optimize automated systems across manufacturing and warehouse environments. The role focuses on a newly developed automated warehouse system, with substantial remote work and travel to sites as needed.

You will collaborate with Operations, IT, Information Security, and external vendors to document processes, support integrations, and ensure reliable system performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in automation, industrial control systems, MES, process design, or project management environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with PLCs, HMI programming, SCADA systems, MES, WMS, or industrial automation technologies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support automated systems controls and SOPs.
• Document warehouse management system processes and become a SME on automation integrations.
• Support integrations between WMS, packaging, MES, and transportation management systems.
• Train onsite super users on troubleshooting and resolving automated system issues.
• Develop monitoring dashboards to proactively identify and resolve system concerns.
