Job summary

Caterpillar’s Electric Power Division is seeking a role focusing on design, development, and implementation of generator control switchgear systems. You will deliver automation solutions for complex power systems, leading retrofit and new projects from concept through commissioning.

Responsibilities include design, programming, testing, and commissioning of low- and medium-voltage control systems, converting legacy PLCs, and training technicians and customers as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Experience with automation and controls systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Identify retrofit opportunities and define project scope.
• Execute design, programming, testing, and commissioning of control systems.
• Convert legacy PLC programs and validate performance.
• Develop PLC and HMI applications using templates.
• Produce wiring/assembly drawings with CAD designers.
• Perform risk assessments and support field performance.
