Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking an experienced Automated Test Engineer (ATE) for a 100% remote U.S.-based role supporting the Veterans Affairs department. The position requires strong coding, extensive manual and automated testing, and proficiency with Selenium, CI/CD, and popular test frameworks.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering and 10+ years in software testing with a Public Trust (MBI) clearance.

Qualifications

• Strong programming and automation testing skills across languages.
• Experience in manual and automated testing on complex software.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and SDLC concepts.
• Ability to write and execute test cases, scripts, and plans.
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools listed above.
• Experience with CI/CD and version control systems (Git, SVN).
• Understanding of performance testing tools and databases/SQL.
• Experience with APIs/web services testing and security testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, cases, and procedures to ensure quality.
• Write test cases/scripts and select data for scenarios.
• Conduct walkthroughs with stakeholders and raise defects.
• Lead tests for software/IT systems and verify results.
• Document and communicate test results and metrics.
• Support analysis and resolution of issues and risks.
• Mentor junior testers and guide test reviews.
• Contribute to risk-based, exploratory, and context-driven testing.
