Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking an Automated Test Engineer (ATE) for a 100% remote position focused on Veterans Affairs projects. The role requires extensive automated and manual testing expertise, strong programming skills, and experience with SDLC and Agile methodologies.

Qualifications

Strong programming skills in C#, Java, or Python.
Experience in both manual and automated testing.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC understanding.
Proficiency in writing and executing test cases, test scripts, and test plans.
Knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools (Selenium, TestNG, JUnit).
Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions).
Familiarity with Git and Subversion.
Understanding of performance testing with JMeter/Gatling.
Experience with defect tracking tools like JIRA/Bugzilla.
SQL/database validation knowledge.
Testing of web apps, APIs, and services.
Understanding of security testing practices.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute test plans, cases, and procedures to ensure information systems meet standards.
Write test plans, schedules, and approaches.
Document and communicate test results to stakeholders.
Perform verification activities and maintain testing environment.
Lead tests and IT system validations.
Create daily test metrics and reporting.
Mentor junior testers and provide guidance.
Collaborate across teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
Support test reviews and risk-based testing approaches.
Contribute to program/project completion and customer interactions.
