Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC seeks an experienced Automated Test Engineer (ATE) to support Veterans Affairs (VA) programs in a fully remote capacity. The role requires strong software testing expertise and a track record of delivering high-quality results.

The candidate will develop and execute test plans and scripts, perform automated and manual testing, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet end-user requirements and organizational standards.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in modern languages and frameworks.
• Experience in both manual and automated testing across SDLC.
• Proficiency with test planning, case writing, and execution.
• Hands-on knowledge of test automation frameworks and CI/CD integration.
• Experience with APIs, web apps, and performance testing.
• Familiarity with defect tracking and version control.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, cases, and procedures to ensure quality.
• Create test schedules, plans, and approaches.
• Write test cases and scripts and identify data for test scenarios.
• Conduct walkthroughs with stakeholders and lead tests of IT systems.
• Perform verification activities and ensure defect resolution.
• Document, communicate, and report test results and metrics.
• Mentor junior testers and guide test reviews.
• Collaborate across teams to optimize testing strategies.
