Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC (SSG) is seeking an Automated Test Engineer (ATE) for remote work supporting the Veterans Affairs (VA) department. The role requires extensive experience in both manual and automated testing, strong programming skills (C#, Java, Python), and a Public Trust (MBI) clearance.

The ideal candidate will lead test planning, execution, and defect resolution across IT systems. This is a 100% U.S.-based remote position.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and executing test plans to meet requirements.
• Proficient in manual and automated testing within SDLC.
• Proven ability to write and execute test cases and scripts.
• Experience with CI/CD and test management tools.
• Knowledge of security testing practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans and procedures to ensure systems meet standards.
• Write test cases and scripts and identify data for test scenarios.
• Conduct walkthroughs with stakeholders.
• Perform tests to ensure proper operation and defect-free software.
• Document and communicate test results.
• Support analysis of test results and resolve issues.
• Create daily test metrics and reporting.
• Mentor junior testers.
