Job summary

Selective Insurance seeks a Subrogation Claims Investigator to manage the investigation and resolution of subrogation for Commercial and Personal Auto lines. You will analyze liability, pursue recovery, and settle or close claims within authority.

You will work with adjusters, counsel, and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements while delivering timely recoveries and high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Diploma required and valid state adjuster licenses.
• 3–5 years claims experience preferred; 2+ years subrogation experience preferred.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and organizational skills.
• Advanced knowledge of claims handling and subrogation.

Responsibilities

• Review complex or high exposure claims to identify recovery opportunities.
• Analyze loss details, subrogation potential, settlements, and releases.
• Document files timely and maintain diary; communicate with stakeholders.
• Engage staff or panel counsel; collaborate with adjusters and attorneys.
• Process incoming communications from insureds, claimants, and others.
• Utilize Intercompany Arbitration to aid timely recoveries.
• Seek management approval for settlements beyond authority; participate in reviews.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and stay current on subrogation trends.
• Manage litigation process with counsel for optimal recovery.
