Auto-Owners Insurance in Michigan is seeking a motivated claims trainee to join our team. This entry-level role handles claims under close supervision through investigation, evaluation, and resolution, with training through the Company's program.

After initial in-person training, you may have the merit-based work-from-home option defined by leadership, with licensing and training ongoing to support claims handling capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or direct equivalent experience with property/casualty claims handling.
• Ability to organize data, multi-task and make decisions independently.
• Above average communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to write reports and compose correspondence.
• Ability to resolve complex issues.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and data security.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, and settle entry-level insurance claims.
• Study policies, endorsements, and forms to develop knowledge of Company products.
• Learn and comply with claim handling procedures.
• Develop entry-level claim negotiation and settlement skills.
• Interact with agents, insureds, and others to service claims.
• Meet with claimants, legal counsel, and third-parties as needed.
• Develop skills in loss adjustment tools and programs.
