Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required; associate or bachelor degree preferred.
• Two years auto appraisal experience preferred; prior insurance carrier experience beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of auto repair terminology and construction.
• Proficiency with Windows-based tools including Excel and Word.
• License requirements: may need state appraiser licenses and continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, estimate and negotiate auto physical damage claims from basic to moderate levels.
• Provide technical guidance to claim staff to achieve optimal outcomes.
• View vehicles/equipment and assess damage using company tools and software.
• Determine claim values and prepare appendices with accurate appraisals.
• Negotiate settlements and collaborate with repair facilities and customers.
• Participate in Catastrophe response and potential extended deployments as needed.
