Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company in Florida seeks an Auto Claim professional to inspect, estimate, negotiate, and evaluate 1st and 3rd party auto physical damage claims. Remote work with territory around Bradenton/Sarasota is available; licensed appraisers preferred with insurance carrier experience.

Responsibilities include evaluating claim value, preparing appraisals, coordinating with claim teams, and negotiating settlements within authority. Travel for catastrophe response may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED with at least one year auto appraisal experience.
• Valid Driver's License.
• State appraiser and claim handling licenses (where applicable).
• Two years auto appraisal experience preferred; prior experience with insurance carrier.
• Strong mathematical and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word.
• Willingness to participate in Catastrophe Response Program (minimum 16 days).

Responsibilities

• Delivers consistent service quality throughout the claim life cycle, including prompt contact and setting expectations.
• Promptly travel to location of vehicle/equipment to inspect or view as needed.
• Scopes claims using technical expertise to determine physical claim value with estimating software.
• Establishes the physical damage claim value of assigned losses.
• Documents accurate vehicle/equipment damage appraisals and replacement values.
• Collaborates with the assigned Claim Professional throughout the claim lifecycle.
• Negotiates settlements with customers or repair facilities to reach agreement on value.
• Determines settlement amounts for Total Loss claims and initiates payments as needed.
• Provides inspection support across lines of business and catastrophe response as required.
• Maintains timely reserves for claims and expenses.
• Develops and updates a plan of action to manage the repair process to timely resolution.
