Job summary

National General, a part of The Allstate family, is seeking a remote, field-based Claims Estimator to create or audit comprehensive damage estimates for auto and specialty lines in the Wilmington, NC market. The role involves training, mentoring, quality control, and technical assistance on material damage claims.

You will assess vehicle damage, communicate repair options, and negotiate settlements while maintaining strong customer relationships across multiple lines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of body shop, collision repair, or automotive repair experience.
• Ability to assess vehicle damage and communicate repair recommendations effectively.
• Strong communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage an independent schedule in a field-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Possesses strong estimating fundamentals to create or audit estimates of damages on 1st and 3rd party material damage losses.
• Understands policy types written by the company.
• Negotiates settlements and documents activities in complex files across multiple lines.
• Evaluates settlement options for compliance and fair claims practices; makes decisions on best option.
• Builds relationships with internal and external customers across multiple lines.
