Job summary

Allied Public Risk - Alternative Markets, a subsidiary of K2 Insurance Services, LLC, seeks a full-time remote Associate Underwriter to support underwriting lifecycle including data review, risk analysis, and policy issuance.

You will analyze exposure, loss history, and financial data, prepare rating and loss analyses, issue policies and endorsements, and maintain files while collaborating with producers and internal partners in a remote, team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, risk management, insurance, or related field.
• Five years of relevant insurance experience, preferably supporting public-entity underwriting, rating, policy issuance, or related operations.

Responsibilities

• Review underwriting submissions for completeness and accuracy, organize supporting documentation.
• Analyze underwriting data to support risk selection and pricing decisions.
• Conduct public-record research to identify risk characteristics or issues affecting acceptability.
• Review budget information to determine each risk’s net operating expenditures and document rating basis.
• Calculate rating bases from verified data and enter into the rating system, flag discrepancies.
• Rate complex accounts using approved methodologies and guidelines.
• Complete loss analyses and summarize findings for underwriting review.
• Prepare and distribute binders, policies, and endorsements per terms and service standards.
• Prepare renewal letters in accordance with standards and timelines.
• Maintain current files and proficiency in systems used by the department.
• Support special projects and coordinate activities to meet deadlines.
