Job summary

The American Heart Association is seeking an Associate Program Manager, Strategic Initiatives, to join the Integrated Care Initiatives team with remote-friendly arrangements. The role supports planning, coordination, communications, and performance tracking for the Heart Valve Initiative and related projects.

This is a full-time, grant-funded position through December 31, 2030. Reporting to the Executive Lead, Strategic Initiatives, you will translate strategy into action by coordinating

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, healthcare administration, nonprofit management, business, communications, or related field.
• Typically under two years of related experience; two to four years preferred.
• Strong organization, communication, and follow-through with multiple priorities.
• Ability to synthesize information and work with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn program tracking, collaboration, dashboards, or CRM tools.

Responsibilities

• Support program planning and execution; maintain work plans and funded deliverables.
• Coordinate across workstreams; track timelines, dependencies, and follow-ups.
• Develop summaries, briefing materials, and implementation resources.
• Review activities for alignment with strategic priorities; escalate misalignment.
• Coordinate communications with internal teams, volunteers, sponsors, and external partners.
• Prepare meeting materials, updates, talking points, and program communications.
• Support meetings by preparing agendas, documenting decisions, and tracking actions.
• Track milestones, indicators, and outcomes; summarize information for decisions.
• Contribute to reports, dashboards, leadership updates, and documentation.
• Support grant requirements, budget tracking, and organizational processes.
• Coordinate inputs for procurement, contracting, vendor management, and resources.
• Flag risks or changes for the program lead; assist with improvements.
