Paylocity is seeking an Associate Machine Learning Engineer to join the Product & Technology organization in a fully remote role within the United States. You will help develop, deploy, and support machine learning solutions that enable data-driven decisions for millions of users.

The ideal candidate has a passion for ML, software engineering, cloud technologies, and continuous learning, with opportunities to gain hands-on experience in modern ML platforms while collaborating with Data Science,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/DS/Engineering or related field required.
• 0-2 years in ML/SE/Data Eng or related roles.
• Internship or capstone in ML/AI or software development preferred.
• Experience with Python through coursework or projects.
• Strong ML foundations: concepts, algorithms, model development.
• Cloud exposure: AWS/Azure/GCP preferred.
• Familiarity with version control, testing, and code reviews.
• Basic data engineering concepts and pipelines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective cross-team communication and collaboration.
• Curiosity, learning agility, and continuous improvement.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with ML Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, DevOps and other tech teams to align ML solutions with business objectives.
• Assist in building, testing, and maintaining software components and supporting infrastructure.
• Support development and maintenance of automated data pipelines and model deployment processes.
• Contribute to cloud-based ML solutions using AWS, Databricks and Spark.
• Participate in CI/CD processes to improve automation, reliability and efficiency.
• Monitor ML applications and investigate issues with guidance from senior team members.
• Document technical solutions, processes and lessons learned for knowledge sharing.
• Participate in cross-functional discussions to ensure alignment and drive project success.
• Follow established software engineering, ML, security and governance best practices.
• Continue to develop technical skills through training and hands-on projects.
