Job summary

McGraw Hill is seeking an Associate Instructional Designer for our K-12 Social Studies programs. You will join a collaborative team of instructional designers, partnering with content, product management, UX, and creative media to assemble high-quality digital curriculum assets such as videos, eBooks, interactives, simulations, and virtual labs.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years' experience in digital content development incl. teaching materials.
• Experience with authoring tools, LMS and CMS.
• Ability to create and visualize animated and interactive content.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to program planning and curriculum mapping; design storyboards and develop digital curriculum assets (videos, eBooks, interactives, simulations, games, virtual labs) using a UBD process.
• Review manuscripts, create storyboards, and contribute during alpha and beta builds; maintain build documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Instructional Designers and senior team members during product builds; support launches via templates, trackers, and guidelines.
• Lead accessibility efforts; become SME and drive accessibility standards across the development process.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, test, troubleshoot, and resolve tech bugs and platform enhancements; support metadata tagging, concept mapping, and digital editing.
• Contribute to user testing and QA vendor work to ensure outputs meet guidelines and quality standards.
• Meet intermediate and final schedules; work with cross-functional teams to ensure requirements and timelines are met.
• Demonstrate a growth mindset, stay current on tech trends, adapt to change, and develop innovative solutions.
