You will be a valuable member of a collaborative group of Instructional Designers, closely partnering with teams focused on content, product management, UX, and creative media. As part of this team, you will create robust digital tools, curriculum and learning solutions in a variety of formats that are used by millions of educators and students every day. The Associate Instructional Designer is a digital savvy content and curriculum expert, responsible and accountable for assembling high-quality content based on specific product requirements for the Social Studies programs.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. This is a Project Status Worker (PSW) role with an end date of 12/31/2027.

What you will be doing:
  • Contribute to program planning, curriculum mapping, and the creation of POCs and prototypes, while designing, storyboarding, and developing digital curriculum assets — including videos, eBooks, interactives, simulations, games, and virtual labs — through a UBD process.
  • Review manuscripts, create storyboards, and contribute during alpha and beta builds, while maintaining accuracy and ownership of all build documentation throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Partner closely with Instructional Designers and senior team members during product builds, contributing heavily to the product build process and supporting digital launches including the creation of templates, trackers, and content development guidelines.
  • Lead accessibility efforts, becoming a subject matter expert in this area and making substantial contributions to accessibility standards across the full product development process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, test, troubleshoot, and resolve technical bugs and platform enhancements, while also supporting digital product tasks such as metadata tagging, concept mapping, and digital editing.
  • Contribute to user testing initiatives and QA vendor work to ensure all output adheres to established guidelines and quality standards.
  • Meet all intermediate and final schedules, contributing to cross-functional teams to ensure product requirements, project goals, and timelines are consistently achieved.
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset by maintaining high personal performance standards, staying current on emerging technology trends, adapting effectively to change, and developing innovative solutions that create measurable value for internal and external customers.
What you bring:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, or related field required.
  • 0-2 years' experience working in digital content development that includes teaching and learning materials.
  • Experience with authoring tools, learning management systems, and content management systems.
  • Ability to create and visualize animated and interactive content.
