Job summary

The Baldwin Group is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join its nationwide litigation team. The role focuses on restrictive covenant and E&O matters, advising management on regulatory and compliance issues, and independently managing complex dockets across multiple jurisdictions.

The ideal candidate holds a JD, active bar membership, and 3+ years of litigation experience, with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Remote work options are available nationwide.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one state.
• 3+ years of litigation experience at a law firm and/or in-house role.
• Insurance defense and restrictive covenant experience preferred.
• Employment experience is a strong plus.
• Experience working with outside counsel and managing litigation budgets.

Responsibilities

• Manage a variety of litigation and pre-litigation matters, including restrictive covenant litigation and general commercial disputes.
• Provide leadership and counseling around litigation and serve as the primary liaison to outside counsel, managing strategy, budgets, and outcomes across firms and jurisdictions.
• Issue cease-and-desist letters and support related litigation strategy.
• Investigate and manage E&O and broker/agency exposure, coordinating with E&O carrier and opposing counsel.
• Draft and review litigation holds, ensuring timely issuance and compliance.
• Prepare quarterly litigation updates to executive leadership and advise senior leadership on risk and strategy.
• Evaluate potential legal exposures and make substantive decisions for all lines of business.
