Baldwin Group Colleague, Inc. seeks an experienced Associate General Counsel to join its nationwide litigation team.

You will advise on all litigation matters, with a focus on restrictive covenants and E&O, coordinating with cross‑functional partners across the platform. The role requires leadership, external counsel management, and sound judgment to steer strategy, budgets, and risk across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one state.
• 3+ years of litigation experience at a law firm and/or in‑house.
• Insurance defense and restrictive covenant experience highly preferred.
• Employment experience a strong plus.
• Detail-oriented with excellent legal judgment and strong organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a variety of litigation and pre‑litigation matters, including restrictive covenant litigation, insurance regulatory issues, potential E&O and professional liability exposures, and general commercial disputes.
• Provide leadership and counseling around litigation and serve as the primary liaison to outside counsel, managing litigation strategy, budgets, and outcomes across multiple firms and jurisdictions.
• Issuing cease‑and‑desist letters, coordinating notifications to new employers, and supporting related litigation strategy.
• Investigate and manage E&O and broker/agency errors exposure, coordinating with the company’s E&O carrier, advising on broker‑of‑record terminations and client notifications, and corresponding with claimant and opposing counsel.
• Draft and review litigation holds, ensuring timely issuance, tracking, and compliance.
• Prepare quarterly litigation and claims updates to executive leadership, and advise Regional Presidents and senior leadership on litigation risk and strategy.
• Evaluate potential legal exposures and make substantive decisions for all lines of business.
