Job summary

Humana is seeking an Associate Director to lead the Data Platform Engineering strategy, architecture, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise data platforms. You will guide SQL Server platform engineering, establish standards, drive reliability, and lead teams delivering scalable data solutions.

You will partner with engineering, operations, and business leaders to implement modern data services, automation, and tooling across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of technical experience in data engineering, database administration, platform engineering.
• 2+ years of leadership or people management.
• Experience with enterprise-scale SQL Server environments.
• Experience developing engineering standards, governance models, and operational best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical planning, architecture, and roadmap development for enterprise SQL Server and data platform services.
• Define and maintain engineering standards, governance, policies, and best practices.
• Ensure platform availability, scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
• Oversee data platform operations, automation, integrations, and tooling initiatives.
• Lead and develop engineering teams while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Partner with stakeholders across technology and business functions to deliver strategic platform initiatives.
• Manage complex technical issues, vendor relationships, and cross-functional projects.
• Drive modernization and service improvement efforts across the data platform engineering organization.
