Job summary
Humana Inc is seeking an Associate Director of Data Platform Engineering to drive strategy, architecture, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise data platforms. You will lead SQL Server engineering, set standards, and ensure reliability, security, and performance across data services and tooling.
You will partner with engineering, operations, and business leaders to deliver scalable data solutions and guide teams toward modernization and service improvements within a remote-capable
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of technical experience in data engineering, database administration, platform engineering, or related disciplines.
- 2+ years of leadership or people management experience.
- Experience supporting and managing enterprise-scale SQL Server environments.
- Experience with data platform architecture, database technologies, automation, and system integrations.
- Experience developing engineering standards, governance models, and operational best practices.
- Experience leading technical projects and initiatives.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with improving customer and outcomes through technology solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical planning, architecture, and roadmap development for enterprise SQL Server and data platform services.
- Define and maintain engineering standards, governance, policies, and best practices.
- Ensure platform availability, scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
- Oversee data platform operations, automation, integrations, and tooling initiatives.
- Lead and develop engineering teams while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Partner with stakeholders across technology and business functions to deliver strategic platform initiatives.
- Manage complex technical issues, vendor relationships, and cross-functional projects.
- Drive modernization and service improvement efforts across the data platform engineering organization.
