Job summary

Rancho BioSciences seeks an experienced Associate or Consultant Engineer to join our global team. You will drive data- and technology-driven engagements, translating requirements into scalable solutions while maintaining strong client engagement and ensuring successful project execution.

The role focuses on development across data curation, governance, bioinformatics, and analytics, with emphasis on delivering high-quality, maintainable code and clear design artifacts in a consulting setting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of engineering experience in data or software delivery environments.
• Experience designing and implementing production-grade solutions in Python, SQL, and modern tech stacks.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles: version control, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
• Ability to translate requirements into clear technical specs or architecture diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-quality, scalable technical solutions for client and internal projects.
• Translate business/functional requirements into engineering designs.
• Own the delivery of defined technical components or workstreams with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across systems and environments.
• Collaborate with clients to clarify requirements and validate assumptions.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to client-facing deliverables such as design docs, demos, and presentations.
• Work with architects, project managers, and team members to deliver integrated solutions.
• Follow and enforce engineering best practices, code quality standards, and security guidelines.
• Ensure deliverables meet client expectations and internal quality benchmarks.
