Job summary

Rancho BioSciences, a global leader in data curation, governance, bioinformatics, and analytics, is seeking an Associate or Consultant Engineer to drive client engagements and deliver scalable technical solutions. You will translate complex requirements into architectures, lead workstreams with minimal supervision, and collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to ensure successful outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of engineering in a consulting, data, or software delivery environment.
  • 2+ years of experience designing and implementing production-grade solutions in a modern technology stack (Python, SQL, dbt, React, Vue, AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Strong proficiency in at least one core engineering domain (software/application, data, or cloud engineering).
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles – version control, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate requirements into clear technical specifications or architecture diagrams.
  • Hands on experience with system integration, APIs, or data pipelines.
  • Proven ability to deliver technical workstreams independently.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork mindset within cross-functional and client-facing environments.
  • Commitment to producing high-quality, maintainable, and scalable solutions.
  • Experience working in agile or iterative project environments.

As we continue to grow, Rancho BioSciences is seeking an experienced and dynamic Associate orConsultant Engineer to join our team. This role is critical in driving results across a project, ensuring successful execution, strategic alignment, and effective team collaboration. The Engineer will drive engagements in data-related and technology-driven projects with a focus on development while maintaining strong client engagement.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For
Must-Haves:
  • 2+ years of engineering experience, ideally in a consulting, data, or software delivery environment
  • 2+ years of experience designing and implementing production-grade solutions in a modern technology stack (Python, SQL, dbt, React, Vue, AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Strong proficiency in at least one core engineering domain (software/application, data, or cloud engineering)
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles – version control, testing, CI/CD, and documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to translate requirements into clear technical specifications or architecture diagrams
  • Hands on experience with system integration, APIs, or data pipelines
  • Proven ability to deliver technical workstreams independently
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork mindset within cross-functional and client-facing environments
  • Commitment to producing high-quality, maintainable, and scalable solutions
  • Experience working in agile or iterative project environments
Nice-to-Haves:
  • Advanced degree (PhD, MBA, or MS) in a Life Science related field
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies in R&D, including AI/ML in drug discovery, real-world evidence (RWE), and digital clinical trials
  • Experience with data platform design (Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift/Athena, BigQuery, etc)
  • Experience or familiarity with cloud architecture patterns and infrastructure-as-code
  • Experience with DevOps practices, containerization, or automation frameworks
  • Understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT, and analytics engineering principles
  • Experience contributing to or leading code/design reviews
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or contributing to internal best practices and accelerators
  • Demonstrated interest in continuous learning and emerging technologies

The pay range for this role is:

69,416.67 - 85,750.00 for the Associate Level

82,025.00 - 101,325.00 for the Consultant Level
