Job summary

Safeguard Law Group, PLLC. is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join a remote-based practice in Houston, Texas. The ideal candidate will draft pleadings and memoranda, manage a heavy workload, and handle consumer-protection matters with diligence.

Because our headquarters are in New York, communications with the main office occur via telephone and electronic means. Candidates must be located in the Houston area and admitted to practice in Texas, with at least one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Must be admitted to practice law in Texas.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm.
• Must possess superior organizational & time-management skills to meet deadlines.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Highest ethical standards and professional integrity.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with senior management and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and supervising a heavy and diversified caseload of the firms clients in Texas.
• Communicating with clients regarding their matters.
• Drafting pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, reviewing and drafting agreements.
• Communicating with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims.
• Legal research related to simple and complex issues in contract law and consumer law.
• Travel for in-court appearances as required.
