The ideal candidate drafts pleadings and legal memoranda, maintains strong organizational skills, and is prepared to handle a heavy workload. This role involves coordinating with our New York headquarters via telephone and email. Candidates must reside in or near Springfield, IL, and be admitted to the Illinois bar.

Qualifications

• Must be admitted to the Illinois bar and in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant law-firm experience.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines.
• Exceptional written and oral communication abilities.
• High ethical standards and professional integrity.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with all levels of staff.
• Strong legal research skills; LexisNexis proficiency a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and supervising a heavy & diversified caseload of the Firm’s clients in Illinois.
• Communicating with clients regarding their respective matters.
• Drafting pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, reviewing & drafting agreements, etc.
• Communicating with opposing parties to resolve/settle claims.
• Legal research related to simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law.
• While this role is based from home, you will be required to travel for in court appearances.
