Job summary

Law Offices of Robert S. Gitmeid & Assoc. PLLC seeks a full-time Associate Attorney for a practice centered in consumer protection law. The role is based remotely with travel for in-court appearances and requires proximity to Warren, MI for commutable consideration.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of relevant experience, strong drafting abilities, and excellent written and oral communication skills, plus superior organizational capabilities.

Qualifications

• Must be currently admitted to practice law in Michigan.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm.
• Must possess superior organizational & time-management skills to meet strict deadlines.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Highest ethical standards and professional integrity.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work easily with senior management and employees at all levels throughout the organization.
• Strong legal research skills -- LexisNexis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and supervising a heavy & diversified caseload of the Firm’s clients in Michigan.
• Communicating with clients regarding their respective matters.
• Drafting pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, reviewing & drafting agreements, etc.
• Communicating with opposing parties to resolve/settle claims.
• Legal research related to simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law.
• While this role is based from home, you will be required to travel for in court appearances.
